Garrett Norman is a senior who blends curiosity, creativity, and determination into everything he does. At Leander High School, Garrett has balanced rigorous academics with a variety of interests and activities, proving that he’s both driven and multidimensional.

A passionate programmer and tech enthusiast, Garrett has built computers, created mobile applications, and explored the world of coding with both creativity and precision. One of his proudest accomplishments was developing a mobile app in class — an experience that not only earned him recognition in the yearbook and an honorable mention in an app development magazine, but also drew admiration from his teachers and peers. Beyond technology, Garrett enjoys running cross-country, swimming in the summer, and has a fondness for cold weather and cars — a reflection of his unique personality and wide-ranging interests.

At school, Garrett contributes to the robotics club, the National Spanish Honor Society, and SkillsUSA, where he hones workforce preparedness skills that will serve him well in college and beyond. While he’s still deciding on the next step for higher education, there’s no doubt that his passion, focus, and creativity will guide him to opportunities that excite and challenge him.

Garrett draws inspiration from the Creed song Higher:

“Can you take me higher, to a place where blind men see?”

It’s a fitting anthem for someone dedicated to pushing himself toward personal goals while embracing the journey along the way.

During his senior portrait session, Garrett experienced the fun and welcoming energy that makes our sessions so memorable. “Mrs. Elizabeth is always very funny and welcoming. She makes anyone look good, and the photo-taking experience is very easy with her,” he shared. That effortless confidence shines through in every image, capturing not just a senior, but the authentic Garrett Norman.
